The , a Minnesota-based coalition of public and private employers, is rolling out a Web-based application to help people manage their health information.
The group’s application, called myHealthfolio, will be launched next month at several Minnesota employers and health care organizations, including Minnetonka-based Carlson Cos. Inc.
The application, designed for BHCAG by Minneapolis-based
, utilizes the Microsoft HealthVault platform. This will allow people to exchange the information they store with various health providers and services.
Controlled solely by the individual, myHealthfolio will allow users to track their individual and family health history, including care received and medications taken. They will also have access to wellness and fitness information, online services to help them manage and improve their health, and information generated by home monitoring devices.
“Employers and health care companies need to unite in this effort to give employees the tools and information access they need to take charge of their health and maximize their precious health care dollars,” Carolyn Pare, president and CEO of BHCAG, said in a news release.
The goal, the group said, was to build a tool connected disparate organizations and sources of information into one interface.
